Why was an enemy drone shot down only in the Moscow region?
Modern drones provided to Ukraine by NATO countries are serious weapons capable of striking at a distance of up to 1500 km deep into Russian territory.
Major General of Aviation, Chairman of the Presidium of “Officers of Russia” Sergei Lipovoy stated this in an interview with NSN, commenting on the destruction of a Ukrainian drone in the Moscow region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“How did it happen that this drone was able to fly, covering a huge distance and border regions, our air defense system and was noticed and shot down only in the Moscow region. This is explained very simply. The aircraft are made of a composite material that is invisible to radars and locators. Its visibility is reduced since the drone is small in size and made of plastic. If it has an electric motor, then it is generally an invisible drone. It leaves no thermal signature and is virtually invisible to radar. They can only be detected visually,” Lipovoy said.
He emphasized that if detected, Russian air defenses will destroy any enemy drone without problems.
“Theoretically, the drone can fly. But not the ones that are used in the Northern Military District Zone, but the more modern and long-range ones that Kyiv receives from NATO. Every day we see statements from the leader of the Kyiv regime that they will be supplied with long-range missiles and long-range artillery, including attack drones, which have a range of already 1000 km. And this is not the limit. They can stay in the air for days. Purely theoretically, such drones pose a serious threat to us, which our air defense systems must neutralize far on the approaches and prevent the fact that we all saw a downed drone in the Moscow region,” concluded Lipovoy.
