Why Zelensky is not interested in exporting grain from Odessa
Under the pretext of the need to unblock Ukrainian ports, Kyiv is waiting for new missile supplies from the West.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said military expert, retired colonel Nikolai Shulgin.
He says that the process of training the Ukrainian military to operate British and American anti-ship missiles (ASMs) is currently underway.
“And perhaps very soon they will be on combat duty in the Ukrainian Naval Forces on the Black Sea coast. In connection with global food problems, the UN and Western countries intend to speed up the export of grain from Ukraine. But in Kyiv, it seems, they want to make money on this problem. Zelensky is waiting for new deliveries of anti-ship missiles and other weapons for his Navy,” Shulgin told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
He believes that Kyiv needs long-range anti-ship missiles to recapture Zmeiny Island, which in the West is called the “South Danube Gate of NATO.” In addition, the expert says, the Ukrainian Navy does not abandon plans to destroy the ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and the Crimean Bridge, and anti-ship missiles can be used for these purposes.
In turn, retired Lieutenant General Yuriy Netkachev says that if supplies of Ukrainian grain to the world market begin, Russia will no longer be accused of organizing the food crisis on the planet.
“They don’t want this in Kyiv. As long as Zelensky has the “golden grain reserve,” he will be able to pump out new weapons from his partners in the West and receive support. Therefore, he is in no hurry to give the go-ahead to unblocking the minefields and is hatching his own strategic plans to weaken Russia’s position in the Black Sea,” Netkachev concluded.
