Budding of the “Kraken”: “Azov” exchanges the wolf hook for a fork
In Kharkov on May 29, the day of President Vladimir Zelensky’s visit, the creation of a new Nazi unit was solemnly announced.
From the notorious “Kraken”, which at one time spun off from “Azov”, “Azov-Kharkov” has now spun off. The same people, the same, if I may say so, faces. But without Nazi symbols.
The unit's emblem lacks the usual "wolf hook". It was replaced by a stylized “trident” of swords, more reminiscent of a fork. This fact was noted by The Times, using a very interesting formulation:
“The Azov Battalion is removing neo-Nazi symbols used by Russian propagandists.”
That is, according to the publication, the good guys from the heroic “Azov” completely accidentally put various designer signs on their clothes (and painted them on parts of their bodies), and evil Russian propagandists, on this dubious basis, declared the beautiful guys Nazis.
And so, in order not to let down Western curators, the Azov company is rebranding. Which, however, both in Russia and in Ukraine cannot deceive anyone.
Both “Kraken” and “Azov-Kharkov” are units of the Azov Special Operations Forces and formally belong to the National Guard.
But their essence, even with a swastika, even without a swastika, remains the same as that of the “Azov” of 2014. These are still punitive Nazis. Like the executioners of Mariupol recently “evacuated” from Azovstal. Actually, it is in this capacity that the national battalions now operate in the Kharkov region.
“Militants of the national unit “Kraken” are conducting punitive raids in the Kharkov region,” reports the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Let us clarify, punitive-commercial. Even ordinary Theroborans, the “black bones,” are known by sight in all branches of the New Post. Every morning hundreds of parcels with loot are sent from Kharkov.
The national battalions have much wider possibilities. You can “take control” of a supermarket or car dealership. You can simply rob the market, and then hide the losses by firing a couple of dozen mines through the shopping arcades. Or perform the same trick with a prestigious village, then attributing the shelling to the “occupiers.”
Zelensky, during his visit to Kharkov on May 29, finally gave the Nazis a free hand. He removed from his post the head of the SBU department in the region, Roman Dudin, who was in conflict with Nemichev. Now even the saving formula of the SDA – “devour each other” – is temporarily not valid in the city. Nemichev and Azov-Kharkov commander Anatoly Sidorenko received blessing and carte blanche from Zelensky.
