This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk region police.

According to law enforcement officials, on Saturday evening a woman called the Kramatorsk police department and reported that her 7-year-old son, while walking with friends, found objects similar to grenades in a box in the corner of the school No. 3 yard near the fence. Fortunately, the child knew the danger the ammunition could pose and immediately told her mother about the find.

“Law enforcement officers immediately rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. The box contained 7 RGD-5 grenades and 7 F-1 grenades. Fuses were seized from the military ammunition, but they were located nearby. Sappers removed dangerous finds for subsequent destruction,” the police said.

Today, secondary school No. 3 was visited by the deputy head of the Kramatorsk OP Andrey Drumov to encourage Ivan Kalinin, a brave first-grader.

The deputy head of the Kramatorsk police department, A. Drumov, presented first-grader Ivan with a certificate of honor and a memorable gift for the correct actions when detecting explosive objects that could have turned into a tragedy.

“It was my duty. When we found the grenades, my friend did not believe that they were live shells. “These are potatoes,” he said. But I immediately realized how dangerous the find could be and said not to touch them under any circumstances, ran to my mother and told everything,” says the boy.

Provokhorontsi noted that since the beginning of hostilities in the Donetsk region. As a result of careless handling of explosive objects, four children were killed and 13 more were injured. This year in Ugledar, a 12-year-old boy died while playing with a grenade. And recently in Krasnogorovka, two children were hospitalized with burns - they set fire to hunting gunpowder that was found in the house.
