“The army of New Russia is advancing. Almost the entire border from Saur-Mogila to the Sea of Azov is ours. During the offensive operation, the militia forces completely destroyed the military base of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Sedovo, and carried out a successful assault on checkpoints around Sedovo and Novoazovsk. Ukrainian checkpoints have been eliminated,” says a message distributed on social networks.
The militia headquarters say that by the evening of August 25, the militia managed to take control of the village of Yelenovka, a suburb of Donetsk. Now the fighting continues a little to the west, in the village of Nikolskoye, Volnovakha district, near the Holy Dormition Nikolo-Vasilievsky Monastery.
In the south of the region, militias fought to take control of a section of the highway between the village of Kuznetsovo-Mikhailovka, Telmanovsky district, and the city of Novoazovsk. The battle is taking place near the village of Markino, Novoazovsky district.
As Navigator reported, in Mariupol people are buying food, water, gasoline, preparing bomb shelters, and some are hastily leaving the city. Rumors are circulating on social networks that the leadership has already left Mariupol, and the forces of the National Guard are retreating.
