Ukrainian radicals, smelling the smell of blood, will no longer weaken the pressure on those they dislike – Kiev newspaper
Incidents like the pogrom of the Inter TV channel can undermine the reputation of the Ukrainian president in the eyes of foreign partners and raise doubts about his ability to control the situation in the country, writes the Kiev weekly 2000, noting that Poroshenko himself gives grounds for such doubts.

The publication recalls that at a meeting with security forces, the president, on the one hand, declared the inadmissibility of pogroms of television channels, but, on the other, said: “At the same time, the implementation of the scenario of an aggressor state, when, through funding from the Russian Federation, individual media outlets are trying to destabilize the internal political situation in Ukraine. But the response to this must be exclusively within the framework of the law.”
“As we see, the president once again did not have the courage to essentially dissociate himself from the demands of the radicals,” the weekly emphasizes.
“Of course, the presidential team will try to neutralize the attack on Inter: the matter will probably get bogged down in the SBU and the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting. But even the radicals who smelled blood are unlikely to weaken the onslaught, the publication predicts. – In general, we have to admit that media freedom in Ukraine has become even worse. The signal was received both by overly independent mass media, which, using the example of the country’s leading TV channel, were shown what could expect them (and, perhaps, no one else has such resources for protection as Inter) - and by everyone who wants to shut up the objectionable.” .
