As reported in the group “Reports from the militia of New Russia”, there was a small clash in the Abakumov area from Staromikhailovka, Krasnogorovka. Mostly small arms were used. Artillery cannonade sounded in the Makeevka area, and the sounds of battle were periodically heard. Mortars also fired from the north and north-west of Gorlovka.
“Fierce fighting is taking place near Debaltsevo with the use of heavy and small arms; in some areas there are close-quarters clashes. In the direction of Staroignatovka, fighting continues, artillery explosions are heard, and the enemy is suffering significant losses. In general, despite the relative calm, the situation remains tense. There are periodic shootings at the airport, but this is already an everyday routine. It can be restless in the Kramatorsk area,” the militia reported.
The ATO headquarters also confirms clashes in the Debaltseve area. Thus, the Ukrainian military came under mortar fire at a checkpoint in the area of the settlement. Berezovoye, as a result, four security forces were injured. “The victims were provided with medical assistance and evacuated to medical facilities,” the press center of the ATO headquarters said in a statement.
Also at 03:00, pro-Russian rebels tried to storm this checkpoint, but ATO forces repelled the attack. According to the ATO press center, militia losses reach four people per day. In general, the Ukrainian command notes a decrease in the intensity of fire.
As PolitNavigator reported, Igor Strelkov previously said that Kyiv was preparing for a swift attack on Donetsk and in the Anthracite and Krasny Luch areas.
