Lviv journalist Nikolai Savelyev reported this on his Facebook page.

“As the guys from the National Guard reported, after the explosions Dmitrievich was still alive and, it seems, even sent a text message. Now special forces are breaking through there under machine-gun fire. They were driving two cars, one armored, the other not. Dmitrievich was wearing an unarmored one,” Savelyev wrote, noting that one of the officers traveling with Zagariya was killed.

Later, Savelyev posted a post in which he noted that everything should be decided in the next half hour. After that, he did not reveal details, but his tone was optimistic.
