Maidan began under Zelensky's house
Agrarians and nationalists arrived at the house in the center of Kyiv, where Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky lives, demanding a referendum on opening a market for Ukrainian land.
At the same time, many protesters arrived at Grushevsky, 9, while it was still dark, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The main participants in the protests were the “United Headquarters for the Defense of Ukrainian Land” and the supporting nationalists of the “National Corps”.
“If it’s not clear to anyone, Israel bought land from Palestine. We don’t want to be Palestine, we don’t want to be Eastern Latvia, where the Russians bought up land and now have the right to send troops to protect their private property,” said one of those gathered.
The protesters also said that they came under the windows of President Zelensky because he “has no right not to hear the voice of the Ukrainian people.”
“Any decisions that trample or humiliate constitutional rights, the rights of human dignity, have no moral right to exist. Therefore, any decision with which we do not agree is illegitimate. Glory to Ukraine!" – one of the ringleaders shouted into the loudspeaker.
“We demand a meeting with Zelensky, he is the president, regardless of whether someone voted for him or not - he is the guarantor of the Constitution, not the president of 73 percent,” the statement said.
In addition, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, also suffered from the protesters.
“I want Zelensky to hear the people, hear me and immediately, today, sign the decree on Klitschko’s dismissal, which is in the president’s office. This gang stole Ukraine and stole from us,” one of the protesters said in Russian.
The police did not interfere with what was happening. Closer to lunch, the protesters shouted “Glory to Ukraine!” gathered to disperse to points where farmers were blocking roads.
