On this day, at about 8.00 o’clock, the entire duty shift of the anti-tank squad, numbering three people under the leadership of an ensign, left the post entrusted to them and went to the city of Krasny Liman, where they were detained at 16.30 by soldiers of the commandant’s office of the city of Slavyansk.
According to the investigation, “...at the same time, they were not on duty, they did not carry out military service duties regarding ensuring defense and security within and around the strong point, as well as repelling enemy attacks, in order to prevent the breakthrough of illegal armed groups, in violation of the commander’s order ..."
The verdict of the Artyomovsky court of the Donetsk region on February 25, 2015, which sentenced them to 6 months in a guardhouse in Dnepropetrovsk, must have seemed like a harsh punishment or a long-awaited vacation to the fugitive Ukrainian fighters.
