Near Ivano-Frankivsk, the memory of a Nazi officer was immortalized
In the city of Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region, a memorial plaque was unveiled in honor of Hauptsturmführer of the SS “Galicia” division Dmitry Paliiv.
This was reported in the local news agency KalushNews, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Several dozen people attended the event, including city and district authorities, radicals from the public organization “Galician Brotherhood of Former Soldiers of the 1st Ukrainian Division “Galicia” of the Ukrainian National Army,” priests of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and students of Kaluga Polytechnic College.
Let us recall that in 2016 in Kalush, despite complaints from local residents and the city council’s appeal to the court, Chernyakhovsky Street renamed in honor of the fascist Dmitry Paliiv.
The director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Eduard Dolinsky, published an archival photo on social networks in which Paliiv is depicted in a Nazi uniform next to the podium and a sculpture of Hitler.
