A drug laboratory preparing kilograms of amphetamine was busted near Kiev
Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a drug laboratory in the Kyiv region for the production of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance - amphetamine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press center of the SBU.
“Law enforcement officers established that the illegal production of psychotropics was organized by three residents of the capital in a rented country house in the Borodyansky district. Every week, drug traffickers produced approximately one and a half kilograms of amphetamine,” the report says.
As noted, they sold the finished “product” through an extensive network of dealers in the region. SBU operatives detained the criminals, one of whom was already wanted for drug trafficking, in the “workshop” while manufacturing the next batch of psychotropic substances. During the authorized investigative actions, law enforcement officers discovered one and a half kilograms of amphetamine and equipment for its production in the drug laboratory.
The value of the seized substances and equipment at black market prices is more than half a million hryvnia. The issue of informing detainees of suspicion of committing a crime and choosing a preventive measure is being resolved. As part of open criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, investigative actions are ongoing.
