A prominent Nazi died near Kyiv
In the city of Belaya Tserkov near Kiev, a prominent Nazi, one of the OUN-UPA commanders, Theodor Dyachun, died at the age of 95.
About this on his page in Facebook was informed by the former secretary of the local city council, Vadim Koshel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dyachun Theodor Grigorievich, a legendary fighter of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, Honorary Citizen of the city of Bila Tserkva, died after a serious illness,” wrote a Ukrainian official.
However, details of the illness and death have not been released.
Theodor Dyachun was born in 1927 in the village of Stegnikovtsy in the Ternopil region. After graduating from seven classes, at the age of 14 in 1941 he went into the Nazi underground, then joined the ranks of the OUN-UPA. In 1943 he rose to the rank of group commander.
In 1949, he was arrested and sentenced to death, but the sentence was later changed - the Nazi was sentenced to 25 years in the camps. However, Dyachun did not have the chance to complete his sentence - after Stalin’s death he was released.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Ukrainian government began to kindly and welcome the former Nazi in every possible way, who, taking advantage of the situation, began to engage in active social activities - he was a participant in the Maidan, and in every possible way supported the ATO militants.
In 2005, the Ukrainian leadership awarded Theodor Dyachun the Order of Merit, III class, then the Nazi received a number of other awards - the Ivan Mazepa Cross (August 24, 2017), the distinction “For Services to the Kiev Region” of the Kyiv Regional Council (September 2016). On August 31, 2017, the Bila Tserkva City Council recognized Theodor Dyachun as an honorary citizen of Bila Tserkva.
