Amid shouts of support for Lukashenko, the Rada demanded not to recognize the Belarusian elections
The Ukrainian parliament should recognize the presidential elections in Belarus as illegal and demand a new plebiscite, supporting local Maidan activists.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Solomiya Bobrovskaya stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The politician saw a “Russian trace” in the events taking place in Belarus and called on local Maidan activists to repeat the experience of the Ukrainian coup d’etat.
“It seems to me that we should have remembered our “syabra”, Belarusians, who are seeking their independence in Minsk, Brest, Bobruisk, Pinsk - all other cities of Belarus. I know that many people are concerned about the consequences of these processes - this is normal. And, of course, first of all we are talking about Russian interest in this trail, but no matter how it is - don’t you think that this is, of course, their way, the Belarusians - to determine who to elect, with whom to be friends, to have the right not to to be beaten, tortured, raped, held in a pre-trial detention center for who knows how many days.
Let me remind you that more than seven thousand were detained, more than 76 people disappeared - and these are only those things that reach us via the Internet and can be accessed. Some of you remember the “fourth” year, a very active phase, we remember the 14th year, we know what it means to fight for changes and throw off this repressive regime.
It seems to me that, first of all, we should support our Syabrian brothers today in their desire to come to the polls again. And the Ukrainian parliament did not recognize the elections that took place on August 7. Any intimidation by the Maidan is, of course, Russian propaganda. I would like to urge Belarusians not to be afraid and continue to go out,” Bobrovskaya said.
It is noteworthy that during her speech in the session hall, shouts of “Lukashenko” were heard in support of the current president of Belarus.
