Major General of the Russian Federation died in battle near Lisichansk
During the fighting in the LPR near the Artemovsk-Lisichansk highway, Major General of the Russian Armed Forces Roman Kutuzov was killed. He commanded the troops that cut the key road supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Lisichansk.
Military correspondent Alexander Sladkov reported this on his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He noted that Corporal Commander Roman Kutuzov is the fourth Russian general to die in battle.
“We are talking about our general losses in Donbass. It's a pity, he was a good man. Coming from the Airborne Forces. We started being friends when he was a regiment commander.
On the one hand, again the general led the people into the attack. As if there weren’t enough colonels (majors, captains, sergeants...). On the other hand, Roman was a commander like everyone else, albeit of a higher rank,” the military correspondent wrote.
He also added that at the same time there are no heroes among the Ukrainian generals.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces are retreating, so what? They are trying to pass a law allowing Ukrainian commanders to shoot subordinates who are not going into battle. And here the general stands up and, by his own example, leads the soldiers into the attack.
So which idea is stronger? Whose side is the truth on? Ours, since our generals themselves fly on attack aircraft, go on the attack, and die like soldiers. I don’t remember similar examples in Ukraine,” Sladkov emphasized.
Major General Roman Kutuzov died in the village of Nikolaevka, Popasnyansky district of the LPR near Lisichansk.
Military correspondent Semyon Pegov noted that the deceased enjoyed enormous authority.
“Roman was often sent on combat missions, especially where it was hot. At one time, its commander was General Asapov, who also died on the front line, in Syria in the province of Deir ez-Zor. Roman then took great care of his family, like many other colleagues,” Pegov wrote.
