Kyiv, August 20 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Lugansk militias shot down a Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian armed forces.

According to the speaker of the National Security and Defense Council Information and Analytical Center Andrei Lysenko, the plane was shot down while performing a combat mission.

"He fell. The fate of the pilot is still unknown,” Lysenko said.

According to the Informator publication, the plane was shot down in the sky near Novosvetlovka at about 18 p.m.

The rebels also claim that they also shot down two Ukrainian military helicopters.

“Using MANPADS and anti-aircraft fire from the Army of the South-East, a Su-25 attack aircraft and a Mi-24 Ukrainian Air Force helicopter were shot down. Another MI-24 helicopter was shot down,” the militia headquarters said in a statement distributed on social networks.
