Medals from Putin were awarded under Poroshenko’s nose in Kyiv
Right in the center of Kyiv, Kyiv veterans of the Great Patriotic War received awards from the President of the Russian Federation.
The award ceremony, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow, took place at the office of the Ukrainian Veterans Organization, which is located not far from the presidential administration. The medals were presented by the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Ukraine, Konstantin Vorobyov, who noted in his speech that this year it was not easy to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory together with Ukraine.

“But thanks to our close interaction, cooperation, fraternal mutual assistance with Ukrainian veterans, we managed to do something,” added Vorobiev. “Maybe it’s a very small thing, but we did the most important thing - we bowed to all the veterans, told them words of gratitude from the bottom of our hearts, and some of our small awards found the heroes.” And now I want to fulfill a very important and honorable mission. The fact is that by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the anniversary medal “70 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War” was established. At the same time, they decided that veterans living in Ukraine also deserve these awards. Moreover, they deserve it."
After this, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Ukraine presented medals to five veterans. Two more veterans present received a similar medal earlier. It is noteworthy that all seven were participants in the 1945 Victory Parade.
