“Unfortunately, I see a threat in communities. Because, as the experience of the Rozkvitovsky United Territorial Community in the Odessa region showed, they refused to teach two parents in Ukrainian to their children at school. We chose a curriculum where studying the Russian language is mandatory.
The parents said: “We don’t have a Russian-speaking minority in the community. Why will we learn the language of this minority? We want to receive education in the Ukrainian language, and give those hours that you devoted to the Russian language, for example, to mathematics and other needs of our children.”
For this, one mother was kicked out of work, and another’s car was burned. Because they demanded the Ukrainian language. Odessa region. And there is no government for them, they say that the community decided so,” Nitsoi laments.
