According to the press center of the Naval Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the shell hit the protective fortification of the checkpoint.
There were no casualties among military personnel. Military equipment of the checkpoint in service.
“The checkpoint personnel showed restraint during the shelling and carried out a set of anti-sabotage measures in response. In particular, an “alarm” signal was announced and a perimeter defense was occupied. A unit that was in the anti-sabotage reserve was sent to the area of the incident. Considering that the shelling was carried out from the direction of the populated area, the military personnel did not open fire in order to prevent possible losses among the population, and also due to the fact that the unknown shot was a single shot,” the press service noted.
According to unofficial data, the shell hit sandbags surrounding the checkpoint. Also, as a result of the shot, the wheel of the armored personnel carrier, which was on duty at this checkpoint, was damaged.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in the Odessa region there had already been attacks on checkpoints, as well as on military registration and enlistment offices.
