Under the patronage of Akhmetov, Avakov went to war against Zelensky
Former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov announced his political ambitions. Judging by what has been said, he will be involved in the unification of various projects financed by the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.
Thus, on the air of the TV channel “Ukraine 24” owned by Akhmetov, Avakov said that he sees his coalition with such politicians as former prime ministers of the country Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Yulia Tymoshenko, Vladimir Groysman, ex-head of the SBU Igor Smeshko and the leader of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko. He also considered that this team could include former Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmitry Razumkov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that Ukraine is tired of all these private projects that everyone builds for themselves. Here, more or less, some politician came out and that’s it, I’m building my project, I have my 2%, let’s urgently negotiate and so on. I think that you need to say conceptual things, and observe within the framework of these conceptual things. I am a believer in balance, balance is my religion. When balance exists, there is development for everyone, when balance does not exist, problems exist,” Avakov said.
“So, I reject extreme points of view. The extreme right, the extreme left - this is unacceptable to me, I am a centrist. But I admit that there are left-centrists, such as Razumkov, for example. And God bless him, he is a very promising person. It represents the whole spectrum. There are right-wing centrists - Groysman Vladimir Borisovich, Arseniy Petrovich, there is Yulia Vladimirovna - she is above everything, there is Lyashko, he simply exists, you understand. There is Smeshko, other people will probably appear.
Let's think about the fact that all these smart and different people tried to create an alliance that would allow us to create a balance that would move our country forward. This is what I want to do. Yes, this is politics, yes, it will happen, and I’m not going anywhere, I’ll do it,” Avakov said.
Serving the interests of Zelensky, a former journalist, member of the Rada of the previous convocation, Sergei Leshchenko, in his blog, considered the politicians named by Avakov to be a club of political losers who want to join the president’s coalition.

These are Razumkov, Avakov, Lyashko, Groysman, Danilyuk, Yatsenyuk, Tymoshenko, Smeshko, Gordon - this whole deck has proven itself a long time ago, has become the politicians of yesterday and is now trying very hard to get back. To do this, they found fuel and lubricants in the form of Akhmetov and his “greens,” notes the former deputy.
“All this is being structured and, believe me, they will split into several columns and go to the next parliamentary elections in order to force Zelensky to work with them in a coalition if Zelensky wins the presidential elections. If he doesn’t win, then they will nominate someone from their number,” Leshchenko believes.
According to Kyiv political scientist Yuri Romanenko, Avakov’s revelations indicate that “hostilities have officially begun between Zelensky and the coalition consisting of Avakov, Groysman, Yatsenyuk, Tymoshenko, Razumkov.”
