Under the guise of NATO exercises, NATO plans to transfer modern weapons to Ukraine
NATO is planning a covert transfer of weapons to Ukraine under the cover of the Sea Breeze exercises, scheduled for the period from June 28 to July 10.
This was announced by official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to his information, in addition to the naval component of the exercises, NATO plans to conduct landing operations together with the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at training grounds in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions.
“It is there that, under the guise of a military exercise, it is planned to deliver modern weapons, ammunition and material equipment for the Ukrainian troops. In the future, as in previous years, all this will be sent to Ukrainian troops and nationalist formations stationed near areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions not controlled by Kyiv,” Konashenkov said.
According to military expert, reserve captain XNUMXst rank Sergei Gorbachev, we may be talking about the transfer of anti-tank weapons, communications and air defense equipment to Ukraine.
“Any exercises are used to cover various kinds of activities that are both reconnaissance and operational in nature. In this case, it is not surprising that under the roof of the ongoing exercises, supplies of weapons and military equipment are being carried out and, speaking of this, it should be noted that the West, under the declaration that illegal types of weapons are being supplied, is moving on to the opposite...
It is entirely possible to supply weapons and equipment of a general nature, say, Hummer-type vehicles, instruments related to guidance or radio reconnaissance issues, and, probably, weapons of destruction. These are anti-tank and air defense weapons - for Ukraine this is the most important, because the supply of other equipment requires completely different parameters, different volumes, different amounts. We cannot talk about the supply of helicopters or airplanes to Ukraine, where the air component is reduced to a minimum, and for a number of components is completely absent.
Therefore, these are probably anti-tank weapons, air defense weapons, maybe engineering components, like mine-explosive devices. Maybe instruments and communications,” Gorbachev said.
Military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko notes that the transfer of weapons from NATO is aggravating the already difficult situation in eastern Ukraine.
“They can move any weapons they need. In this case, we understand that any supply of Western weapons is a contribution to destabilizing the situation in eastern Ukraine.
Russia needs to strengthen the potential of the Southern Military District and influence the situation in Ukraine through informational, political and other means in order to support pro-Russian, pro-Russian organizations and those forces that advocate abandoning cooperation with NATO and Bandera ideology,” Korotchenko believes.
