Under the supervision of the Nazis, the National Council decides to deprive NewsOne of its license
The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting decided to go to court to deprive the NewsOne TV channel of its license, and at the same time seek to expand its powers.
Ulyana Feshchuk, Deputy Head of the National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting, stated this during an unscheduled meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the draft decision regarding the holding of the “We Need to Talk” teleconference, we have three points:
1. Appeal to licensees of providers and software services regarding the strict compliance in their activities with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine. We have posted this appeal, with a list of legal entities to which such sanctions have been applied, on the website.
2. I propose the creation of a working group, to which over time the SBU, RNOBO, NABU and NZK will be involved in order to counter anti-Ukrainian activities.
3. We will appeal to the Verkhovna Rada regarding amendments to the law on television and radio broadcasting, so that in conditions of practically war, because in fact there is a war on the territory of Ukraine, the National Council should have broader powers to counter anti-Ukrainian activities,” Feshchuk said.
It was also reported during the meeting that the National Council would initiate an inspection of the NewsOne TV channel, as a result of which a second sanction would be imposed, which would make it possible to sue the campaign and revoke its license.
Let us note that the meeting took place under the close supervision of nationalists, who staged a demonstration under the building with fires being lit. There were also radicals in the meeting room itself. The corresponding video recording was published on the Telegram channel “S14”.
Let us remind you that yesterday the founder of the neo-Nazi Azov regiment, Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Biletsky threatened riots and reprisals against the organizers of the teleconference between the TV channels “NewsOne” and “Russia 1” if it is not banned by the country’s President Vladimir Zelensky. A few hours later, the former comedian made a statement, in which he called the upcoming teleconference dangerous for the country.
