Kyiv, December 02 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Supporters of Semyon Semenchenko, commander of the Donbass battalion, defeated in the Ilovaisk pocket, demand that the battalion commander be allowed to combine command of the unit and at the same time remain a deputy of parliament.
They announced the corresponding demands today near the Verkhovna Rada, where the second meeting of the new parliament was held, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Several people came to support the battalion commander, holding posters with the inscriptions “Semyon, your main war in the Rada”, “We support Semyon Semenchenko”.
However, the participants of the action, who introduced themselves as the Uman Self-Defense, could not really explain what they wanted, but said that they supported Semenchenko “regarding the Verkhovna Rada.”
At the same time, supporters of the battalion commander do not yet know whether they will recommend Semenchenko to the leadership of any parliamentary committee, but they believe that he should combine both a deputy mandate and command of a battalion, which, as is known, is a violation of the law.
“We will review the laws,” the protesters promised to resolve the legal conflict.
Semyon Semenchenko himself previously stated that he was not against heading the committee on national security and defense in the Verkhovna Rada.
