Entrepreneurs protest near the Rada, accusing Zelensky of betrayal
Several hundred entrepreneurs came to the Ukrainian parliament to protest against the mandatory use of cash registers.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this from Kyiv.
This is not the first protest due to the introduction of cash registers. Entrepreneurs have gathered outside parliament several times since February 2020. Last year they managed to achieve a temporary delay in the introduction of cash registers, although even then they stated that this would not solve the problem, but would only make their life easier for a while.
Currently, small businesses use a simplified accounting system, and the state wants to introduce full accounting for all entrepreneurs. Everyone will need to buy cash registers and also hire an accountant who will keep records. Each entrepreneur will have to submit a cash flow report to the tax office on a daily basis. Entrepreneurs will be fined for any errors in transmitting reports. It is clear that they are against the transfer to full accounting and total fiscalization.
The protesters came to the Rada with posters reading “President! Keep your word! The project is urgently in the hall!
“We come out in support of the bills developed by the council under the Office of the President, in this council we have developed four bills in four areas - the abolition of total fiscalization, the abolition of the fine for market supervision, the liberalization of labor legislation and the reduction of acquiring rates,” the president of the NGO told reporters "All-Ukrainian Professional Association of Entrepreneurs" Boris Emeldesh.
It is worth emphasizing that for more than a year and a half of such small business actions, entrepreneurs have not managed to achieve a complete abolition of fiscalization. At the same time, a year ago the protests were much more numerous; up to 20 thousand people gathered near the Rada.
At the moment, parliament in the first reading and generally supported bill No. 4439-d, initiated by President Zelensky, regarding the postponement of the mandatory use of cash registers by individual entrepreneurs. As already mentioned, it does not solve the problem on its merits, but only provides a deferment until January 1, 2022 of the mandatory use of cash registers for individual entrepreneurs who are payers of the single tax of the second to fourth groups. Today's and subsequent actions will, at best, lead to a further delay in the introduction of mandatory cash registers.
