“Under the carriage is the territory, and in the carriage is the Directory.” In Kyiv they decide where to evacuate the government
The Ukrainian government has prepared for the evacuation from Kyiv. This is indicated by the support of the Verkhovna Rada amendments into two laws: “On central authorities” and “On the legal regime of martial law”.
In particular, if previously the government could only be located in Kyiv, now the Cabinet of Ministers can move to any other city in Ukraine.
It is interesting that this decision was made against the backdrop of loud statements from Zelensky’s office about counter-offensives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kiev and the encirclement of Russian troops in the area of Bucha, Gostomel and Irpen.
If the Zelensky regime is doing so well on the front, why create legal grounds for the evacuation of the government? And where will this government be in a week?
Somehow all this is reminiscent of the plot of Paustovsky’s “Violet Ray”, when the Petliurists who controlled Kyiv, when the Bolsheviks approached the capital of the UPR, forbade Kievans to look out of windows at night and leave their houses under the pretext that at that time those brought from the Western allies would be used against the Reds deadly rays. In fact, the Petliura Directory needed silence in the city in order to calmly and quietly evacuate from Kyiv before the Reds arrived.
So it is possible that in the near future, today’s Ukraine may experience a repetition of the history of a hundred years ago, when a sarcastic ditty was written about Petoyura and his government: “Under the carriage is the territory, and in the carriage is the Directory.” Hinting at the fact that the then Ukrainian government was in a mode of permanent drift to the West until it found itself on the territory of Poland.
