First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk spoke about the presentation, listing a list of candidates consisting of 17 people.

From the party in power “Servant of the People” - Oksana Boyarchuk, Elena Gataullina, Vitaly Gren, Oleg Didenko, Andrey Evstigneev, Irina Efremova, Pavel Lyubchenko, Vitaly Plukar, Sergei Postivoy, Yuri Fritsky, Vladimir Perepelyuk and Alexander Karmaza. Andrey Gevko was elected from the “Voice” party, and Victoria Glushchenko from the “Batkivshchyna” party. From the party “Opposition Platform - for Life” - Sergei Dubovik and Yuri Miroshnichenko, from “European Solidarity” - Yuri Buglak.

However, according to the people’s deputy of the European Solidarity party, Alexey Goncharenko, this most important issue is being considered in an extremely short time due to the fact that Vladimir Zelensky is thus trying to expand his power.

“Today we are considering an extremely important issue in some ridiculous time frame. We are told that this is “turbo mode,” but this is some kind of bad mode. What's the point of this? Yesterday afternoon we received a proposal from the President of Ukraine to appoint new members of the Central Election Commission. Today at 11 o'clock we are already voting for these candidates. Less than 24 hours have passed!

I have a simple question: how can this happen, why is there such a rush? Are we having elections tomorrow? Maybe you already want to hold elections in Donbass tomorrow? No? Then where are we in such a hurry? Why should Ukrainian society, journalists, and experts analyze these candidates? Who are these people?

You did not allow Ukrainian society to see and discuss these candidates. You destroyed the previous Central Election Commission because you wanted more power. You weren’t interested in the fact that it only worked for a year,” Goncharenko was indignant.

This was followed by voting for each of the candidates separately, which was not without its excesses. So, when the turn came to the nominee from “European Solidarity” Yuri Buglak, it turned out that the chosen one was not in the hall. Petro Poroshenko’s ally Irina Gerashchenko took the floor and tried to explain that everything happened too quickly and the candidate did not have time to return from abroad, but she was booed.

Further voting took place without problems. At the end of the meeting, the newly elected members of the Central Election Commission took the oath.

Let us note that Oleg Didenko, Andrey Evstigneev, Irina Efremova and Vitaly Plukar were members of the previous Central Election Commission.
