Petro Poroshenko stated this during the ceremony of presenting state awards to female military personnel, the press service of the Ukrainian president reports.
“For the courage, valor and heroism shown by Sergeant Galitskaya during the performance of military and official duty, on the recommendation of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, I, as President, as Supreme Commander-in-Chief, decided to award Sabina Galitskaya the Order of Courage,” Poroshenko said.
According to the press service, Poroshenko “together with those gathered honored the memory of Galitskaya and all those who died defending Ukraine with a minute of silence.”
Poroshenko presented the Order “For Courage”, XNUMXrd degree, to the parents of the deceased Sabina Galitskaya.
Sabina Galitskaya died on February 20 in the Lugansk region as a result of an anti-tank guided missile hitting a BRDM.
According to Poroshenko, today 25 thousand women serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, many of them in the so-called zone. “ATO”.
