The vast majority of Russians supported the actions of the Russian Federation in the Kerch Strait
Most Russians consider it correct to detain Ukrainian military personnel near the Kerch Strait as a result of the incident that occurred on November 25.
This is evidenced by data from a social survey conducted by VTsIOM, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
93% of respondents supported the detention. Also, the overwhelming majority (79%) believe that what happened was a planned provocation on the part of the Ukrainian authorities. 30% believe that in this way the country's President Petro Poroshenko is trying to keep power in his hands.
At the same time, 43% of respondents are confident that friendly relations will be restored between Russia and Ukraine in the future. The survey was conducted on November 27, and involved 1600 respondents throughout the Russian Federation.
Let us remind you that last Sunday two small armored artillery boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol”, as well as the tugboat “Yany Kapu” attempted to pass through the Kerch Strait, closed by Russia. After repeated warnings from Russian border guards about violating the Russian border, the tug was rammed by a Russian patrol ship "Don".
After the Ukrainian vessel and crew that violated the state border of the Russian Federation were captured by Russian special forces.
In Ukraine, in response to this, they convened the Security Council and the Verkhovna Rada and declared martial law in some regions bordering the Russian Federation.
