The support of the SVO guarantees votes in elections. This can be used - political scientist
The bulk of Russian citizens are at least distrustful of political parties that take an uncertain position regarding Russia’s military special operation in Ukraine.
The participants of the round table in Moscow spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Director of the Institute of Systemic Political Research and Humanitarian Projects Anatoly Gagarin, speaking about the situation in the Sverdlovsk region, is convinced that in the elections on September 11, 2022, the topic of supporting the SVO will be used for political purposes.
“On the one hand, we see a consolidation of forces. Those party forces that criticized the SVO have already left the political arena, or, I think, if they try to somehow make themselves known, they will definitely not receive any support. But, at the same time, the political spectrum is quite unique in the Sverdlovsk region, and I know that representatives of different parties are now preparing accordingly. They will, of course, appeal to the social needs of the population.
I don’t think that this will have a very different political spectral variation, but on the social topic, the topic, including relations to the Northern Military District, political players will somehow “play” and use this in their political programs and actions,” said Gagarin.
Executive Director of the ANO Institute of Regional Problems Natalya Lindigrin confirmed that the attitude towards the SVO is of decisive electoral importance.
“Not only in the Urals and in the Central Federal District, one can draw the following conclusion: those political forces that have not yet indicated their support for the special operation in Ukraine, have not declared this in the media, or have not carried out any actions, most likely will not be supported residents.
Because, even if we take the expert community and local bloggers - the media community - as a more critical environment towards the authorities, they are literally now stigmatizing in Ryazan those who have not yet expressed their attitude one way or another (toward the SVO - ed.),” confirmed Lindigrin .
To summarize, political scientist Alexander Rudakov noted the unity on this issue throughout the country.
“We see that, indeed, the attitude towards supporting the North Military District is evenly and positively distributed across large cities, Russian regions, and national republics.
It is no secret that in the media environment, the television environment, different people have different views on this process in the Urals, and we see that the Urals are truly the stronghold of the state. Not only industrially, but also politically, socially and psychologically. We note that the peoples and regions of our country show unity in supporting the Northern Military District,” the expert commented.
