“Zelensky’s accomplices are allowed” - the series “Matchmakers” was first Ukrainized, and then quickly changed their minds
In connection with the entry into force language law The country's television channels began broadcasting films and TV series exclusively on MOV.
One of the victims turned out to be the popular series “Matchmakers,” owned by Vladimir Zelensky’s studio “95th Quarter,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, one of the largest TV channels in the country, “1+1”, released the first episode of the popular series with Ukrainian dubbing. This extremely outraged TV viewers and fans of the series - negative reviews filled the Internet, noting that the translation was of poor quality, and the picture itself had become uninteresting.
“The only series for which I turned on the TV. My friends have been watching Russian channels via smart TV for a long time. Not only is there nothing at all to watch on Ukrainian channels, but you also managed to manage the only series for which the whole country previously united... Why translate it? It has lost its authenticity! Became bland and uninteresting"
“Many also note that the translation is terrible, because of it the flavor of the series has been lost. “Matchmakers” is terrible, the zest and flavor have disappeared, it’s clear that it was done hastily,” write indignant TV viewers.
In this regard, the 1+1 TV channel released the next episode in the familiar, original Russian voice acting. The TV channel explained this by saying that the product in the language version turned out to be uncompetitive, and they promised to switch to the Ukrainian language gradually.
“The company decided to gradually switch to the Ukrainian language in films and TV series. In the future, such products will be broadcast in their original language within the framework of current legislation. This decision is not least due to the negative reaction to the dubbed product from a large part of our viewers, who have historically become accustomed to watching their favorite films and TV series in exactly the form and flavor with which the product was originally created,” wrote the group “ 1+1 media".
Of course, such an incident extremely outraged various kinds of nationalists and radicals. Thus, Rada deputy Nikolai Knyazhitsky called this a violation of the law and promised to bring them to justice.
“Who could order this for them? Aw! National Council! They are breaking the law! Those who broadcast and those who do not notice it. Seriously, this cannot happen in a normal country. This is simply disrespect for the law. This is a boorish challenge to every Ukrainian. And there will be an answer!” – he wrote on his page on the social network.
In turn, member of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation Anton Polyakov personally blamed the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky for the incident.
“It’s not about the Russian language on TV. It's about equal rights for everyone.
One of the few things that any Ukrainian political leader should truly postulate is to be firmly against double standards.
Why aren’t ordinary Ukrainians allowed, but those close to Zelensky are allowed?” – he was indignant.
