Accomplices of the detained Aidar battalion commander came out under Zelensky's windows
Ukrainian nationalists and former militants of the national battalion "Aidar" staged a picket outside the walls of the Office of the President of Ukraine, demanding intervention in the case of Interpol detained in Greece at the request of Russia former commander of the National Battalion "Aidar" Sergei Melnichuk, accused of murders during the so-called ATO.
According to one of the initiators of the picket, Melnichuk’s ally, Nikolai Grekov, all militants who decide to go abroad may find themselves in a similar situation today.
“This is a systemic event, it is not the first - this is Igor “Topolya” in Poland, this is our volunteer who was arrested and convicted in Italy, now Sergei Melnichuk is in Greece. Today, every ATO participant, every volunteer, every patriot may find himself in this situation. Therefore, we demand that the president intervene in this situation, and there is a reaction from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ukrainian Interpol, because without it no arrests can be carried out by Interpol, and they responded to this,” Grekov said.
The picketers wrote an appeal to the president, in which they also demanded the creation of a working group to release Melnichuk: “The fact of the commander’s detention has signs of a systemic nature. Every ATO participant, patriot, and members of their families can find themselves in a similar situation.”
