A law has been prepared to force children to swear allegiance to Ukraine when receiving a passport.
Ukrainians must swear allegiance to their homeland upon receiving a passport. The leader of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko stated this on TV channel 112.
According to him, only patriots should be issued passports, and those who have not sworn allegiance will be without documents.

“I am proposing a bill according to which a person, when receiving a passport, must take an oath of allegiance to Ukraine as a citizen of this country. At the age of 16, take the oath. For some this is pretentious and banal, but I think it is important. When a child swears allegiance to Ukraine from childhood, then perhaps, when it is necessary to defend the country, he will remember these words,” Lyashko said.
