The court was not convinced by the forgery in Bulanova’s signatures, but the prosecutor’s office sided with the singer

The artist Tatyana Bulanova was never registered as a candidate for deputy of the St. Petersburg parliament. However, the prosecutor's office believes that the territorial commission committed too many violations.
The city court of St. Petersburg did not reinstate Tatyana Bulanova, candidate for deputy of the regional parliament, even after forgery of signatures was revealed during the court hearing. In its conclusion, the prosecutor's office clearly sided with the plaintiff and also appealed to the court demanding that Bulanova's claim be satisfied.
“The work of TEC No. 17 in re-checking signature sheets cannot be called justified. Many violations were established, the defendant (TEC No. 17) was in no way able to explain why the voter data was submitted for examination in this form, I believe that the decision of the TEC does not stand up to any criticism. In this regard, I ask the court to satisfy the demands of the administrative plaintiff,” said a representative of the prosecutor’s office during the proceedings.
From the court materials it follows that the TEC, when sending the signatures of Tatyana Bulanova’s supporters for examination to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, entered the data of non-existent people. There were 30 such signatures. All of them were included by the expert in the list of “unreliable”. As part of the trial, voter signatures were analyzed for the second time. After the first refusal to register, singer Tatyana Bulanova wrote a complaint to the Election Commission. And the commission upheld the complaint. The first re-verification proved the authenticity of another 70 supporters' signatures.
Tatyana Bulanova’s headquarters believes that the election commissions are deliberately delaying the singer’s reinstatement as a candidate in order to prevent her from campaigning during the election campaign. There is a high probability that members of election commissions are being used as an administrative resource by political influence groups in St. Petersburg. This is also indicated by the expressed dissatisfaction on the part of the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova.
Tatyana Bulanova simply has no reason to forge the signatures of her supporters. She is a more than recognizable person and enjoys the sincere support of St. Petersburg residents and Russians. According to the latest study by sociologists, she has surpassed even the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Gennady Zyuganov, in the popularity and recognition ratings. Tatyana Bulanova is registered as a candidate for the State Duma from the Rodina party. She has to prove her right to be a candidate for the regional parliament through the courts.
