Podolyak and Budanov correctly lowered the bar for rhetoric about a “counter-offensive” – Fesenko
Too high expectations regarding the much-hyped Ukrainian counteroffensive do not play into Ukraine’s hands.
Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who works for Zelensky’s office, stated this in an interview with propagandist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have repeatedly said that there is no need to name dates. Categorically. I am an absolute opponent. I think - Podolyak, Budanov, no matter who - everyone who drew these rosy plans (about interviews from the shores of Crimea this summer, etc. - ed.), listen, why? This is raising the bar, this is creating inflated emotional expectations.
By the way, now the rhetoric has changed, this is very noticeable; officials, serious people who have a real relationship with the army, have information about our state of the armed forces and about the Russian side, so they assess the situation more restrainedly. This is right, very right, I have been calling for this since the beginning of the year. Thank God, it has already arrived, and they are already assessing the situation more pragmatically,” he cracked.
“Therefore, there must be an offensive, it will probably be more than one, perhaps it will happen gradually, because for us there is no other choice,” Fesenko babbled.
Thank you!
