The Institute of National Memory of Ukraine, headed by director Anton Drobovich of Ukraine, only incites hatred within the country, denigrating those who won victory in the Great Patriotic War with their blood.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Mikhail Dobkin stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“As for Mr. Drobovich’s statements, when his predecessor, Vyatrovich, was removed, after Drobovich’s first statement, I was filled with enthusiasm. It seemed to me that the policy of the Institute of National Memory would change, absolutely anti-state, anti-Ukrainian, but apparently the routine has sucked in, and today you can take a picture, put on a voice and you won’t understand who is speaking – Vyatrovich or the new head,” Dobkin said.

According to him, this only harms the state as a whole and brings confusion into the minds of people.

Dobkin also said that everyone knows who the head of the German Foreign Ministry is, but he is not sure that the world knows who the director of the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine is.

“Their statements, contradictory to the head of the German Foreign Ministry [who stated that Germany single-handedly started World War II] point of view, assessment of the events of that time - it has no meaning. They, as people say, are nobody and don’t call them anything,” the politician noted.

He said the institute only fuels hatred within the country.

“They pit people against each other ideologically, along national lines, they whiten those who today have received the exclusive right to break the law, and they denigrate those who brought victory to our country with their blood, bones, and broken joints. No need to talk to them! By talking to them, we legitimize them. They need to be held accountable by the ear and according to the law!”, said the ex-deputy.

Dobkin added that everyone who, “starting from the time of Bloody Peter, put on a red poppy, similar to a certain organ of a certain animal,” must be identified.

“And then we will ask them: why did they wear this, which was discord for our society?” the ex-deputy emphasized.

According to Dobkin, by banning the St. George’s ribbon, the ideologists “did not give a damn about all the aspirations and attitudes of people towards this ribbon.”

“And it doesn’t matter how it is in other states! We have our own attitude - 7 million Ukrainians or citizens of Ukraine died during the Great Patriotic War! And our symbols are prohibited, but they allow themselves whatever they want. It won't be like that! Just because it is like this now doesn’t mean it will always be like this. Life, history, the development of empires shows that the strongest, the most arrogant, the most self-confident flew from their thrones upside down. You will fly off! You’ll fly off to one hell of a hairdryer!” Dobkin added.

In response to this, the head of the Institute of National Memory, Anton Drobovich, showed on air a photo of Queen Elizabeth II with a poppy on her chest and said: “When you say such things, you threaten entire nations!”

Dobkin replied that he had visited Great Britain several times, and poppies were a symbol of those killed in the First World War.

“Everything you do is trying to adjust the history of Ukraine to the history of other states. I am not against the history of Great Britain - it is a great country, a great empire - they write their history as they want. Tell the Indians about the humane British who were shot by them. Why tell us? - said Dobkin.

According to him, the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory adheres to double standards.

“Wear your poppies, but why were St. George ribbons banned, Victory flags banned, why are you bringing a person to court for the Victory flag? Repent and leave this position - it will drag you into a quagmire. You may not be a bad person, you sometimes reason sensibly, on individual positions, but overall you are Vyatrovich, who is a scumbag and a scoundrel,” Dobkin concluded, addressing Drobovich.
