Journalists sent by Sandu staged a provocation at the post of Russian peacekeepers
Journalists from the pro-Western Moldovan TV channel TV8 staged a provocation at a peacekeeping post near the village of Gura Bicului in the security zone.
This was reported by the First Pridnestrovian TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The film crew arrived at the post in a car with Romanian license plates and began filming, which is prohibited by the decision of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), which includes Moldova.
The peacekeepers asked to delete the recording. In response, the woman began to object in Romanian.
“Nothing else is required of you, just delete the photos and videos of this post and move on,” one of the peacekeepers told them. He warned that in case of refusal, a group of military observers would have to be called to the site to document the incident. Its members include representatives of Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and the Transnistrian region.
To resolve the conflict, journalists called the Moldovan police. However, the policeman sided with the peacekeepers and asked the correspondents to leave.
“The fact that the peacekeepers stopped the vehicle, demanded that the video footage be destroyed, called the police and military observers - this is all within the framework of the decisions made by the JCC. The same Moldovan side signed these documents and made these decisions. The actions of the peacekeepers were competent and tactful and complied with the regulatory documents of the JCC,” Oleg Belyakov, co-chairman of the JCC from Transnistria, commented on the incident.
