“Signed at gunpoint”: the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine proclaims the rejection of “Minsk”
Ukraine is not going to implement the Minsk agreements and advises the population of the Donbass republics, who have received Russian passports, to move to the Russian Federation.
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine headed by the President Alexey Danilov stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Danilov, implementation of the Minsk agreements will lead to unexpected consequences.
“Now the Russian Federation constantly insists at recent meetings that our country must begin to implement the Minsk agreements. Firstly, I would like to say that this is a very dangerous thing for our country. This can lead to unexpected consequences. We already had one experience when, unfortunately, our military died near the Verkhovna Rada. And therefore I would never advise playing with such fire as the Minsk agreements,” the official said.
He also recalled the words of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry about the protection of Russian speakers.
“Therefore, using the Russian language is a very dangerous thing. In addition, I will remind you that they issued hundreds of thousands of passports in the territory of the occupied Donetsk and Lugansk regions, and this may be one of the reasons when they say that these are already citizens of another country. But if these are citizens of another country, they should calmly pack their bags and go to the Russian Federation, and not stay on our territory,” Danilov said.
Danilov also gave an interview to The Associated Press, where he stated the need to revise the Minsk agreements.
“Implementation of the Minsk agreements means the destruction of the country. When they were signed at Russian gunpoint – both the Germans and the French were watching, it was already clear to all reasonable people that these documents were impossible to implement.”
