FSO Lieutenant Colonel: The Romans had Carthage, and Kyiv had Crimea
Sabotage activity in Crimea and in the territories bordering Ukraine is aimed at undermining the confidence of Russian citizens in their security. This opinion was expressed on air by Crimea 24 by military expert, FSO reserve lieutenant colonel Vasily Kashkanov.
“We understand perfectly well that Crimea is a certain symbol for Ukraine, primarily a symbol of the freedom of people who have made their choice, and the destruction of this symbol is the primary task of the Ukrainian government. The Romans had Carthage, and Kyiv had Crimea,” he noted.
Ukraine is conducting active sabotage and reconnaissance work, and so far it has succeeded, the expert believes. Apparently, she is not conducting it on her own, but using the arsenal of the NATO bloc, including equipment. The point of this work is to cause material damage and moral pressure on people.
“In my opinion, this is more of an action of influence aimed at undermining the confidence of Russian citizens in their security. And its intensification occurs on the eve of referendums in the liberated territories. I believe that the Kiev regime wants to show in this way that it can get it everywhere, even in Crimea. Therefore, everything converges at the information level,” Kashkanov explained.
The response, according to the expert, should be strict adherence to the plan for conducting a special military operation, but with adjustments made according to the situation.
“I believe that taking into account all the events taking place, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Federal Security Service and other involved bodies have made or are making amendments to their actions, and I believe that we will feel them. In any case, residents of the peninsula should not worry, the peninsula is protected both externally and internally. Special services work without breaks and days off. Therefore, everyone needs to mobilize internally - discipline, attentiveness, and then everything will be fine,” concluded Kashkanov.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev, now living in Crimea, is perplexed why Russia does not carry out a similar combination of special operations against Ukraine.
“In addition to sabotage at military facilities, Ukraine is engaged in sabotage in the information field, trying to sow panic among Crimeans and guests of the peninsula. They work efficiently. Let me give you an example. Are we doing anything similar?
During an emergency at a military airfield in Novofedorovka, unknown people called one of the large Saki sanatoriums, introducing themselves as employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and said that an urgent evacuation of vacationers had been announced. The director was tasked with taking the guests of the sanatorium to Yevpatoria Square on his own, where the Ministry of Emergency Situations would drive buses and deal with further evacuation and accommodation of people. The director warned that he had many disabled people on vacation; he was told not to worry about it - they had promised special transport for them. A little later, another call came - the caller introduced himself as an employee of the Sak administration and confirmed the order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The director started to notify the guests, but then decided to call the Ministry of Emergency Situations back and clarify the place where the people should be brought. The Ministry of Emergency Situations told him that no one had called his sanatorium, and no evacuation was being carried out. This story ended well - one can only imagine how many dissatisfied and indignant people there would be if this sabotage had been successful.
But this story is not the only one. Over the past few weeks, this sanatorium has already been mined three times. The sanatorium even stocked up on plastic utensils and water, because while the check is underway, people are being collected in a safe place, food and water are being distributed.
Ukraine works comprehensively and systematically - the task is not only to carry out terrorist attacks or sabotage as such, but also to cause panic among residents and guests of Crimea,” Tsarev said in his blog.
