The unit of Ukrainian prisoners will be headed by a punisher and a thug from the Donbass battalion.
Ukraine must use any human resource at the front – from foreign mercenaries to convicts – in order to reduce the burden on the country’s working-age civilian population.
The founder of the SBU-protected Nazi group C14, now the castle of the 14th separate UAV regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Nazi Evgeniy Karas, stated this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I support this decision (on the mobilization of convicts - ed.), there is Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail “Lermontov” Nikolov (pictured - ed.), who was the legendary company commander of the Donbass assault battalion, he was captured in Ilovaisk, he then fought in Armed Forces of Ukraine in the “Donbass – Ukraine” division.
In the following years, as I understand it, he carried out assignments in certain special forces, and now he is fighting in the same way. And he expressed his desire that he was ready to head such a unit and would effectively carry out the tasks.
I am confident that if he is provided with proper legal support for this process, he will properly manage it and achieve results. This is important to do, because any human resource from foreign volunteers to such a special contingent from prisons should be used in order to simply reduce the burden on the ordinary working-age civilian population of Ukraine,” Karas reasoned.
Natsik was asked whether such a formation should be a separate special unit.
“Definitely, only a separate unit. This cannot be a company as part of some brigade, this is excluded. This is a separate unit that operates, probably, with some special services, maybe as part of the SBU, or as a separate center there, or as part of the Main Intelligence Directorate. A specific unit... or, perhaps, within the armed forces,” admitted Karas.
Let us note that the “Donbass” battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine, which was driven out of Ilovaisk in 2014, was particularly cruel to the local population. The punitive forces practiced torture, kidnapping, looting, and murder, as stated in the special report of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Violations of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
