The explosion of a high-rise building in Sevastopol may not be the last in Menyailo’s fight against squatters

Sevastopol, December 25 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – In Sevastopol, about two hundred construction projects, according to the government, are illegal. If necessary, “the same measures” will be taken against them as against the 16-story building on Kapitanskaya Street, which the city authorities plan to blow up tomorrow.

The governor of Sevastopol, Sergei Menyailo, told reporters in Moscow about this, according to whom, “no one will legitimize what is illegal.”

“To date, we have filed about two hundred claims regarding illegally built real estate or so-called unauthorized construction. And the same goes for land plots. For some of them, we already have a positive court decision and are returning them to the treasury. For other objects that are recognized by the court as illegal construction or unauthorized construction, we will take the same measures,” the governor said, citing the example of a 16-story building on Kapitanskaya, which is planned to be blown up tomorrow.

“The government’s main position is comprehensive development in accordance with the zoning scheme and master plan, which today, unfortunately, is at the stage of developing technical specifications. Integrated development with compliance with all norms and rules, including social burden,” explained Sergei Menyailo.
