Bombing of a Polish memorial in Western Ukraine: ATO militants are conducting the investigation
On Monday evening, information appeared in the media about the explosion in the Brody district of the Lviv region of a monument to residents of a Polish village who were burned alive by the Nazis and Ukrainian nationalists during a punitive operation in 1944.
From the scene of the incident, photographs were published of the destroyed memorial, on the ruins of which the flag of Ukraine and the black and red banner of Hitler’s collaborators, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, were spray-painted.

Governor of the Lviv region Oleg Sinyutka this morning urgently met with the Consul of Poland Veslov Mazur.
The diplomat told the details of the meeting in an interview with radio station RMF FM . The Ukrainian official assured that an operational search group has been created, and all those responsible will be found and punished. The governor also promised that the monument would be restored.

The publication Kresy, which traditionally supports the return of Galicia to Poland, publishes the opinion of priest Tadeusz Isakovic-Zaleski. IN interview he calls the bombing of the monument an action directed against Polish statehood.
“The explosion of a monument consisting of a cross and memorial tablets is a fact that neither the Polish nor the Ukrainian authorities should ignore. This action is directed against Polish statehood,” he said.
“This event is a serious test for the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry and the ambassador to Ukraine. Will they really continue to grovel before Kiev and demonstrate Poland’s weakness?” – the priest summarized.
