According to the former chief technologist of the Coral Central Design Bureau, Viktor Krivodedov, there is already a project for the extraction of fresh water (submarine waters) in the area of Cape Aya, created based on the results of research by the Marine Hydrophysical Institute.
According to him, freshwater sources of drinking water in the area of Cape Aya flow both from the rocks in the grottoes and from the bottom of the sea.
The project provides for pumping water and transporting it through pipes to Balaklava.
“Plastic pipes with a diameter of 500 mm and a wall thickness of 40 mm will be used. Ten kilometers of pipe to Balaklava today will cost 70 million rubles. Pumps - 4 million rubles. When feeding up to 20 cu.m. m of water per day, electricity costs will be 50 kopecks per cubic meter. m. Taking into account operating and depreciation costs, the cost of supplied water will be 10 rubles per cubic meter, which is comparable to the prices of Sevgorvodokanal. The payback period for the project is about 4 years,” the newspaper quotes Krivovedov.
