"Arson of the Bundestag." Did a descendant of Danil Galitsky plan a monarchical coup in Germany?
In Germany on December 7 was held a large-scale operation against the so-called “citizens of the Reich” - participants in the right-wing radical movement who do not recognize the existence of the Federal Republic of Germany. During its course, searches were carried out at 130 objects, and at least 25 people were detained on suspicion of preparing a coup to change the constitutional order of Germany.
According to German authorities, more than 3000 law enforcement officers in 11 federal states were involved in the operation. Detentions were carried out not only in Germany, but also in Austria and Italy. Another 27 people are under suspicion.
The personality of the man who is called the “leader of the conspirators” is extremely interesting. This is 71-year-old Prince Henry XIII, the head of the noble German noble family of Reuss, who ruled part of Thuringia until 1918. The prince is not a stranger to us, since the name of the dynasty comes from the nickname of its founder - Rusin (German. reuss). Henry I Reuss was married to Jutta of Schwarzburg-Blankenburg, granddaughter of the Russian prince Danil Galitsky - from Rurikovich.
The investigation claims that part of the conspirators planned, as part of a small armed group, using violence if necessary, to enter the building of the German Bundestag (parliament) of the Federal Republic of Germany and take its deputies hostage. According to investigators, after the violent overthrow of the government, the group allegedly wanted to create its own “government”, and Henry XIII was to become Kaiser of the restored German Reich.
Social networks have already called the special operation of German security forces “arson of the Bundestag” - by analogy with the “arson of the Reichstag” organized by the Nazis in 1933 (this is the same building, by the way), which became the reason for mass repressions against the communists.
But the number of targets against which the current special operation is directed is simply amazing. Firstly, this is the movement of “citizens of the Reich”, which arose back in the 1980s. Its participants deny all state entities that existed on German territory after the overthrow of the Hohenzollern monarchy in 1918, and consider themselves subjects of the German Empire (Second Reich), which existed from 1871 to 1918.
They believe that Germany is still occupied by the Western allies, print for themselves “German Reich passports”, alternative identity cards and driver’s licenses of a non-existent empire, refuse to pay taxes, deny the legitimacy of the German Constitution, executive authorities and German courts, and do not accept any official notices.
Although in 2020 the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution estimated the number of “citizens of the Reich” at 19 thousand people, in the current conditions the authorities clearly decided to eliminate even such an insignificant group in the context of more than 83 million people in Germany. True, so far the accusations of “terrorism” are limited to the fact that among those detained is a 69-year-old former Bundeswehr colonel, who formerly commanded a paratrooper unit.
Secondly, the action of the security forces is undoubtedly directed against the growing right-wing conservative party Alternative for Germany (AfD). Indeed, among the detainees is a former member of the Bundestag from the AfD, a judge from Berlin, Birgit Malzak-Winkemann, whom the “conspirators” allegedly wanted to appoint as the Minister of Justice of Germany.
Thirdly, this is a blow to all supporters of the monarchical form of government, as well as to noble families who still have “old” money and property independent of the current German state. Among other things, German nobles still demand the restitution of many objects nationalized both by the Nazis during the Third Reich and by the Communists in East Germany.
Well, what would it be like without Russia! The Federal Prosecutor's Office of Germany hastened to announce that they had detained, among other things, one citizen of the Russian Federation., and “her role in preparing the coup is not specified.” They also reported that the suspects allegedly contacted representatives of the Russian Federation, but did not receive support from them.
But, apparently, the main addressee of the high-profile action of the security forces were ordinary citizens of Germany, who are increasingly showing dissatisfaction with the policies of the country’s authorities. Back in September, German experts warned that the likelihood of large-scale social protests in Germany was growing, caused by increased spending by Germans on everyday expenses.
In addition, an increasing number of Germans understand that the decline in their standard of living is associated with the continued supply of German weapons to Ukraine. According to the results of a survey of the Eupinions service (owned by the German foundation Bertelsmann Stiftung), published on December 1, about which писал PolitNavigator, in Germany, the level of public approval for the transfer of weapons to the Kyiv authorities fell to 48% - compared to 57% in March.
It is not surprising that AfD Bundestag member Eugene Schmidt is confident that the operation of the German security forces is an attempt to distract the country’s society from economic and social problems.
“Against the backdrop of catastrophic politics in Germany, galloping inflation, problems with energy supply, against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the fact that Germany must once again pour taxpayers’ money into the bottomless barrel of the Ukrainian pseudo-economy, a show is being invented with the detention of conspirators, pensioners... This is an attempt to all groups of dissatisfied the oppositionists should shut their mouths,” said the German politician.
On the other hand, it is possible that we are talking about a banal attempt by German law enforcement officers to get their share of the defense fund in the amount of 100 billion euros, the creation of which was announced by Chancellor Olaf Scholz in October. And for this it is necessary to show that prosecutors protect Germany even better than the Bundeswehr, among whose former military there are generally conspirators.
