United Russia, who went to get a Ukrainian passport, helps Bandera’s followers claim Crimea
The trial of Sevastopol politician, member of United Russia Igor Kucheryavy, who was recently detained by the SBU after traveling to obtain a Ukrainian visa-free passport, will take place on Monday.
Member of the Legislative Assembly from United Russia Ekaterina Bubnova reported this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel.
Until this time, Kucheryavy will be under recognizance not to leave Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Sevastopol politician Vadim Kolesnichenko emphasized that Kucheryavyi’s act exposes the whole of Russia, adding points to Ukrainian propaganda.
“We all, residents of Crimea, must understand one thing - in 14 we wanted to protect ourselves, first of all, from the Nazi threat.
Russia, a huge country with a huge population, took big risks - rehearsal, financial, it saved us, it helped us. Yes, there are geostrategic benefits for Russia, but there are much more political negatives.
This is what I’m saying - a normal person should realize that we are responsible to those who sheltered us, who helped us, who protect us.
And you are right - when we risk ourselves and go to the other side to be detained, we understand that the reputational risks will be borne by the Russians, the Russian Federation.
This is what Russia should do now - it will not be possible to officially rescue him, he entered as a citizen of Ukraine, using a Ukrainian passport.
On the other hand, they show it to the whole world and wave the flag: look, Crimeans, they don’t have enough of this, they don’t have enough of that, they’re fleeing to Ukraine.
And if we take into account the statement of the Ukrainian Federal Migration Service that in recent years almost 200 thousand Crimeans have received Ukrainian biometric passports, then two questions arise.
The first - yes, we understand, it’s an information war, but these same passports are actually obtained, and they can really be shown with numbers. Consequently, the referendum was not entirely by choice. Probably, “he really came by force of arms, probably today people are trying to resist the aggression of the Russian Federation in this way”?
There is a much broader interpretation here. Therefore, we must clearly interpret that you have to pay for everything in life. They helped us, and we must deny ourselves something,” Kolesnichenko condemned Kucheryavyi’s act.
Sevastopol blogger Alexey Protsko suggested that Kuchervy went to Ukraine to avoid possible persecution in the Russian Federation.
“It was a stupid move, of course. I probably won’t be able to explain this issue with anything other than stupidity and some kind of immaturity. At a much lower level, people there have no reason to go there, because they will take it there anyway. All the lists are already there. And, especially, deputies, this should be a closed topic. Was it really so necessary to go somewhere that it was impossible to go through Russia, what kind of problem is that?..
One can imagine a story in the best traditions of Agatha Christie, for example, a deputy who stole a lot of money had no way out, and he decided to urgently flee to Ukraine, because in Russia they would have killed him, for example,” Protsko said.
