The last resident of a front-line village in the DPR died
A resident of the village of Zaitsevo in frontline Gorlovka (DPR) was blown up by a mine planted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was announced by the mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Zaitsevo, in the buffer zone, an elderly woman was blown up by a mine. Resident of the street Brusilova. Unfortunately, she died from her injuries. Woman born in 1958,” Prikhodko said in the publication.
Later, the mayor clarified the information about the deceased.
“Today it was not just Irina Alekseevna Menshakova who died, today one of the Little Hares who personified the unbending will and courage of these people died.
For four years she and her husband lived on the very edge of the front line. For four long years she fought as best she could. Just recently we were finally able to persuade her to move. They were the last ones with Uncle Senya to move in quite recently. And now, tragedy. I couldn't, I came back.
Dear Irina Alekseevna, may you rest in peace! We say goodbye to you! We will always remember you!” – wrote the mayor of Gorlovka.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier, commenting on the incident, official representative of the DPR operational command Daniil Bezsonov said that the explosive device was installed by the Ukrainian military the night before, since the day before the tragedy the deceased was working at her site.
