According to the head of the Main Investigation Department of the SBU, Vasily Vovk, the explosives did not contain any harmful substances. According to him, as a result of the examinations, it was established that the deceased had 1 kg of TNT with him, but no igniters, detonators, or other substances that could indicate the presence of an explosive device were found at the explosion site.
“According to one version, the deceased could have stolen explosives from the military academy, which is located nearby. And the explosion occurred due to negligence when he was carrying this explosive,” noted the head of the Main Investigation Department of the SBU.
He also noted that analysis of the remains of the deceased’s clothing indicates that he was a person of low income.
Vovk noted that at a distance of about 50 meters from the explosion there is a branch of one of the national banks, and 200-300 meters away is the office of one of the public organizations.
