“There will be a takeover, one way or another” – a Kiev expert suggested relaxing and submitting to “imperial Russia”
Against the background of the growing “new imperialist expansion” on the part of Russia, it is unknown whether the statehood of Ukraine is unlikely to be preserved.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Mishin said this on the air of “Ukrlife”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Unfortunately, there is no optimism. Not only what is happening now, but our calculation was that we would be supported by NATO and the EU, but we see that in both structures there is a split, internal forces are fighting. At the same time, Russia is returning to PACE, and its positions within Russia are strengthening.
We have been saying for five years that Russia is now going to collapse, Putin and so on, you know, Russia is like an empire, a state-corporation, the collective Putin is coming closer there. After Putin there will be a much tougher person,” Skachko said.
“There is Putin - there is no Putin, the deep state and large Russian capital - this is a new imperialist expansion, it continues at a new level, it is intensifying. I’m probably a strange expert, I’m not a futurist, but, unfortunately, I don’t see in the long term how the state of Ukraine can survive. The absorption will happen one way or another,” the political scientist added.
The expert also cited as an example a meeting of the National Security Council of Ukraine held in January entitled “Human Security is State Security,” where one of the points was “Establish relations with the Russian Federation.”
“If this is in the National Security Council document, then this is probably the general opinion. By inertia, there are some inertial, stagnant statements, but if it says not “resist”, but “establish” relations, then there is nothing to talk about - they will swallow us up. That's all. On the other hand, it is unknown whether this is good or bad,” Skachko noted.
