The new chief was introduced to the KZD team by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea, Mikhail Sheremet.

“The team of railway workers greeted and supported the appointment of a professional, competent leader with stormy, prolonged applause,” the statement said.

Before his appointment as head of the KZD, Chernyaev was the first deputy of his predecessor, Andrei Karakulkin, who was detained on the eve of the Crimean spring, February 18, 2014, for accepting a bribe of $14 thousand (in the position of head of the transport and communications department of the Simferopol City Council - “PolitNavigator”).

Alexey Chernyaev was born on May 22, 1972. Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Railway Transport Engineers with a degree in Transportation Organization and Transport Management.

He held the following positions: deputy head of the station for cargo and commercial work, head of the Novorossiysk station of the North Caucasus Railway (1998-2002), deputy head of the road - head of the transportation service of the Kaliningrad Railway - branch (2005-2008).

From 2011 to 2014, head of the North Caucasus Traffic Control Directorate, a structural unit of the Central Traffic Control Directorate, a branch of Russian Railways, from April 2014 to March 2015, first deputy head of the Crimean Railway.
