The militias who came to help their leader freed him. They also took firearms from the border guards, the press service of the Donetsk Regional State Administration reported.
In addition, the regional administration notes that representatives of the DPR are intensifying work among citizens to resist the Kyiv authorities and military units.
“New checkpoints are appearing on the approaches to cities: between Shakhtersk and Kirovsky, near Zhdanovka, in the Starobeshevsky district (Alexandrovka village, Petrovka village and Novozaryevka village),” the regional state administration reported.
“On May 5, in almost all cities and districts, meetings between representatives of the DPR and the leadership of local authorities were held to discuss organizational issues of holding a referendum,” the press service said in a statement.
