Pogrebinsky clearly explained why the Kiev regime will not comply with Minsk
The Ukrainian government will not move on to direct negotiations with Russia and will not implement the Minsk agreements, because this will lead to the collapse of its official propaganda about “Russian aggression” and will show that the conflict in Donbass is, in fact, internal.

Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky said this on the Internet channel “PolitWera”, as reported by the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”, noting that the need for direct negotiations was recently stated by the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, who said that for him the red line is the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“In essence, this means: “Poroshenko, go negotiate with Putin on how to ensure the implementation of this principle of maintaining territorial integrity.” And this is more or less spelled out in the Minsk Agreements,” Pogrebinsky said
He also noted that by the phrase “everything else is a subject of negotiation,” Kravchuk means granting autonomy to Donbass and holding elections there.
“Let there be 50 thousand verification structures that will ensure the integrity of the elections, while everyone understands that as a result, people who will not win in Kyiv will win these elections. I’m asking my colleagues, including politicians, including ambassadors of Western countries - do you understand that these people will win anyway? They say: “Well, of course, that’s understandable. But we need legitimacy, so that there is legitimacy there, elections and that’s it.” That’s why Kyiv doesn’t want there to be legitimacy there, it doesn’t want there to be elections. Because if elections are held there, these people will definitely be elected, all the same, they will be people who are oriented towards Moscow,” the political scientist clarified.
This factor, according to Pogrebinsky, prevents the Kyiv authorities from implementing the Minsk agreements.
“And this means that the idea that this is a war between Ukraine and Russia, that this is aggression and so on, will lose ground. It turns out that if they have 4 million Ukrainian citizens there who have chosen a government that opposes the Kyiv authorities, then it turns out that there is an internal Ukrainian conflict. This destroys the entire mythology of the modern representation of Ukrainian propaganda, Ukrainian politics about what is happening now in Ukraine. Therefore, they cannot allow this,” Pogrebinsky concluded.
